LONG TERM CARE

  Long Term Care are services that include medical and non-medical care for people who are unable to perform basic activities of daily living such as dressing or bathing.

 Long-term care options and services can be provided at home, in the community, in assisted living or in nursing homes. Individuals may need long-term supports and services at any age. 

Medicare and most health insurance plans do not pay for long-term care. 

More than 70 % of people over 65 years of age will need some form of long-term care. 

Factors that contribute to the need for long-term care are: families that are not geographically close enough to their loved ones, the time needed to properly care for those in need, travel expenses, and other responsibilities make it nearly impossible to provide the care older family members require and deserve. 

Yes, our elderly population is more inclined to need long term care however,  young adults, children, and even infants use long-term care services due to chronic illness, disability or accident.
